The Rooke family session at Buffalo Jump was everything a photographer hopes for — relaxed, connected, and full of genuine joy. One of my personal favourite places to take families because it provides the perfect backdrop: soft prairie grasses, endless skies, and that untamed Alberta charm. The Rookes embraced it fully — exploring, laughing, and occasionally just messing around like families do when they’re most themselves.

Like many families, theirs includes an important four-legged member — Samson, their big, lovable dog, who quickly became the star of the session. It’s not uncommon for photo shoots to naturally revolve around the family pet, and Samson made it easy with his gentle energy.
